Justice Project South Africa's
Corporate Members & Sponsors
BECOMING A MEMBER
Please Download the membership form under the tab on the left hand side.
Our membership fees are very low because we do not seek to fund our organisation from membership fees but rather by sponsorship from those members who can afford it.
- The JPSA is an apolitical Organisation and does not discriminate based
on race, colour, creed, religion, sex, age, or station in life, provided
that no person under the age of 18 years may be accepted above the level
of Associate of the Organisation. In order to become a member of the
Organisation, the applicant must have a National Identity Document and
parental consent must be provided if the applicant is less than 18 years
of age.
- A criminal record check, utilising the SAPS database will be conducted
on each and every person applying for membership of the Organisation.
- The mere existence of a criminal record in itself shall not necessarily
mean that an application for membership will be automatically declined,
provided that the applicant has been truthful in their application or
was unaware of the existence of the criminal record, however, where a
criminal record does exist on a potential member, extra investigation
and consideration will be instituted.
- The intentional provision of any untruthful information in an application
for membership shall lead to automatic disqualification of the applicant
and once declined, further application for membership will not be considered.
- Every person applying for membership of the level "Member" or higher
shall be required to attend an interview with one or more members of
the Executive Council or Sub-Committee prior to their membership being
ratified and finalised. This is also a requirement if the applicant is
under 18 years of age.
- An application fee of R50 (fifty rand) will be payable with each application
and this amount shall be used to conduct criminal record and background
checks on the applicant. This fee is not refundable, regardless of the
outcome of the application.
- Annual membership fees are set at a current rate as reflected below. Membership fees are payable on 1 March of each year and may be reviewed at any time provided that at least 30 days notice of fee increases are provided to members. Should a member join the Organisation on a date other than 1 March of each year, a pro-rata rate will be applied to membership fees.
- Associate - R24 per annum
- Member or Sub-Committee Member - R48 per annum
- Executive Council Member - R120 per annum
- Corporate Membership - Donation of any amount in funds or required equipment felt appropriate by the company concerned.
- Once accepted into the Organisation, each member will be issued with
a membership card/certificate bearing the Organisation's and their details
and this card/certificate shall be renewed annually or when a member's
status or post within the Organisation changes. Apparel that a member
may be required to wear will have to be funded by the member concerned.
- Appointment to a post on the Executive Council or a Sub-Committee shall
be provided by means of an invitation thereto by the Executive Council;
whereafter a democratic process for electing office will be maintained.
Any member (or group of members) may request that the Executive Council
invite a specific person to join the Executive Council or a Sub-Committee;
however any such request shall not be addressed as a demand.
- All members agree to abide by the Constitution, Rules and Regulations and Code of Conduct of the JPSA at all times and not to bring the Organisation or its members into disrepute by expressing any views, opinions or utterances within the scope of the Organisation's operations which are not expressly allowed by the Organisation.
