Justice Project South Africa's
Panic Button
Our cell phone "panic button" has been launched and is now active and available.
A "panic button" for your cell phone..
Justice Project South Africa has now implemented a National cell phone panic button service, in conjunction with eBlockwatch to enable those arrested by Traffic Police to get competent advice quickly.
The service costs R20 per month (of which we get R5.00 per month) and the registration process comprises 3 SMSs at a charge of R3 each (of which we get nothing).
Once registered with the service, enabling a speed dial emergency button will enable us to:
- Offer you immediate competent advice on your rights if you get arrested for a "bogus" Traffic Offence .
- Track your cell phone wherever you are taken.
- A record button is also included so you can record bribe solicitation etc. to a server if needed.
- We will be adding extra features shortly.
- Obviously, this service does not include advice if you are arrested for a genuine traffic offense like drunk driving etc.
To register for the service SMS JAIL to 33930 and reply to all of the prompts.
The service will be fully operational From Friday 3 July 2009 so register now.
